"Recycling is an area where jobs could be created at low cost.Municipal corporation Chhindwara came into being as Corporation on 05-Sep-2014. It has total 48 wards and total area 11072.231 hectares. Its total population is 2,15,843. Since beginning Chhindwara has been a clean and planned city. It has lot of Green belt and many tourist places like Dharamtekdi, Bhartadev, Karaboh dam and Badal BhoiAdiwasi etc.
Fusion Waste Management and Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. Has been associated with Chhindwara Municipal Corporation (CMC) in February 2021 for Providing Technical Assistance for Solid Waste Management and Carrying out IEC Activities. We are doing IEC/BCC activities for CMC targeting each and every resident of Chhindwara for awareness creation, sensitization and behaviour change. We are also providing technical support for Swachh Bharat Mission and committed to improve rank of Chhindwara in Swachh Survekshan 2022.

Door-to-Door Collection, Transportation and Processing of Waste
We have extended our constant support to CMC for achieving 100% door to door collection of waste. In a record time of nine months CMC was able to achieve 100% segregated collection of waste with the help of 55 Partitioned Tippers with no household left. This waste is being transported to transfer station in the segregated form through partitioned tippers. Tracking and Monitoring of collection and transportation is being done through Vehicle Tracking and Monitoring System with our support. We are also supporting CMC in processing of waste by providing technical support, enhancing technical know-how, updating technology used, arranging technical sessions for safety of workforce etc.

Home Composting
HomeComposting is a great way to recycle the organic waste we generate at home. It can take some of our leftovers, waste and unwanted extras and turn them into fertile soil to boost the productivity of gardens and landscapes. Our IEC team led the movement to aware more and more people about home composting. Under this movement a dedicated team visits door to door and educate people to make compost using wet waste such as peels of vegetable and fruits, unused food, leaves etc. Various methods of home composting viz. Matka Composting, Composting using a specially designed compost bin, community composting etc. were taught to the residents of Chhindwara. Team had got a good response towards home composting from the residents.

BartanBank/ Thaila Bank
Bartan and Thaila Banks were established at almost 20 places at in Chhindwara. People can take utensils on rent on nominal rates from these Bartan Bank for functions/ceremonies/other occasioned and can help in reducing load of disposable plastics on environment. They can also purchase Thaila from thaila bank and can stop using SUP/Plastic bags. These banks have made tremendous efforts in reducing quantum of waste generated. We in association of CMC is working towards involving SHGs in this project to provide them livelihood opportunities.

Neki Ki Deewar (Anandam Kendra)
We have suggested to establish about 20 Neki Ki Deewar at Chhindwara, in turn CMC has established these at 20 locations in the city. These are helpful in getting cloths, utensils, food, shoes etc. to needy. Ultimate aim is to reduce production of waste, actually which is not waste but resource for others.

AKAM Chauraha (AKAM Circle)
On the occasion of completion of 74 Years of India’s Independence, 75th Year is being celebrated as Azaadi Ka Amrti Mahotsav (AKAM). Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is also celebrating this year as AKAM. Therefore, it has directed every city to designate one circle (chauraha) as AKAM chauraha. In line with AKAM, Imlikheda Chowk (Ward No.- 35) has been designated as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Circle (AKAM Chauraha) by Chhindwara Municipal Corporation. We have ideated and designed a detailed plan for AKAM Chauraha on the principle of 3R and conveyed it to CMC.
This initiative has transformed Imlikheda circle in a panoramic circle, that has improved the beauty of the city many folds. A hollow sphere was designed with Iron rods having AKAM Logo on one side and Swachh Chhindwara Sunder Chhindwara Logo on other. This sphere is placed on Imlikheda Chowk and fitted with an electric motor that will revolve this sphere.Multicolour lights were also installed at the periphery of this circle. Revolution of sphere and reflection of lights on it, turns this Circle (Chauraha) into a panoramic view, that attracts attention of visitors.
Safaimitra Suraksha Tiraha
We have ideated and advocated to CMC for dedicating a tiraha/chauraha (circle) to our real heros and foundation of maintaining cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene. Their lives are equally important as ours, therefore, on note of Safaimitra Suraksha Challenge A Tiraha was dedicated to safamitras for their unending contribution and to create awareness about protection of their lives.

Beautification/Painting
Paintings for spreading awareness about Safai Mitra Suraksha and its helpline number 14420, Swachh Survekshan 2022, Behaviour Change Communication and Beautification were made on walls in different wards and public space. Our team extends constant support to CMC for Beatification of city. Decorative fencing/ wire mesh has also been constructed/fixed over the bridges of water bodies to prevent littering and gaining attraction/attention of passer-by to motivate them to not to litter at such a beautiful place.
IEC Activities
Information, Education and Communication (IEC)Information, Education and Communication (IEC) is a systematic approach aiming at changing or reinforcing behaviours in a target audience, concerning a specific problem and within a pre-defined period of time, through communication methods and principles. Every month we are carrying out about 250 plus IEC Activities on about 25 thematic areas under Swachh Bharat Mission to create awareness & sensitization and to motivate residents/citizens for following best practices of cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene. We conduct IEC activities on following topics as per guidelines of SBM-Urban and State with a view to impact behaviour change of residents.
Segregation of waste is need of the hour for its effective processing and management. Our two teams viz. Door-to-Door Collection (DTDC) and IEC continuously putting their unending and dedicated efforts for source segregation of waste into five categories- dry, wet, sanitary, domestic hazardous and plastic waste.
Swachhata application fuses together a time-tested complaint redressal platform with the opportunity for citizens to work together on civic issues with community centric features for citizens to vote up on complaints, share them with other concerned citizens and comment on the work being done. It is a quantum leap in how complaints and grievances are being redressed by Municipal Corporations in India. Fusion team visits at public places, colonies and offices and interacts with people available/working there to download and install Swachhata App in their mobile phones.Our team is also teaching them to register complains, give feedback etc. through the App.
This game is designed in such a way that 7 players can play at a time with a referee/instructor and learn about Do’s and Don’ts of SafaiMitraSurkasha Challenge. Do’s are printed on Green while Don’ts are printed on Red. While playing, if game instructor announces Do’s (like septic tank should be cleaned every three years, or septic tank should be cleaned by machine) players has to jump on green. On the other hand, if instructor announces don’ts, then players have to jump on red. If anybody jumps at wrong place, he/she would be declared out from the game.
Magic, which encompasses the subgenres of illusion, stage magic, and closeup magic, among others, is a performing art in which audiences are entertained by tricks, effects, or illusions of seemingly impossible feats, using natural means. Magic shows have been employed for spreading awareness about Swachhata, as it has the capability of huge citizen engagement and participation because of its allurement capabilities. Swachhata Magic shows were performed in schools, at public places and wards to spread awareness about 4 Bins, Plastic Ban, Citizen Feedback, SS2022 etc.
Our team organizes Waste to art exhibitions regularly with constant support from CMC with a motive to find out new and innovative ideas of waste recycling, reuse and repurposing.A similar exhibition was organized at Town Hall on 1st October 2021 under Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, in which 19 participants have participated and displayed their exhibitions created/carved out of waste material. These exhibitions also impact life of visitors to these exhibitions, which in turn to society at large.
Puppetry is a form of theatre or performance that involves the manipulation of puppets – inanimate objects, often resembling some type of human or animal figure, that are animated or manipulated by a human called a puppeteer. Our Team has organized puppet shows at many places of the city on various themes such as 4 Bin, Source Segregation of Waste, Home .

The services of Swachhata Call Centre and Swachhata app are offered to the citizens by CMC. The FUSION team manages the complaints/feedback received through the Swachhata app, call centre, WhatsApp and during face-to-face interactions with the locals. Our team has been participating proactively in ensuring the resolution of all complaints through local municipal and other officials.
The word Shramdaan means labour (Shram) and donation (Daan). Shramdaan means a voluntary contribution by the person towards community welfare involving physical effort. It is a way of helping our community and contributing to help and change the environment around us for better. In order to inculcate this value in the present generation Fusion team organizes "shramdaan" on various occassions round the year. Shramdaan activities include cleaning of office areas, residential colonies and public places including cleaning of drains, public toilets, waste collection drives, and awareness campaigns etc.
Citizen feedback is one of the components in Swachh Survekshan. Citizen/Residents can give their feedback through various modes. Fusion Team has employed two ways viz. (i) on call awareness creation and (ii) on field awareness creation. Fusion team has called residents vis-a-vis visited door to door in all wards of CMC for making people aware to give feedback and vote for my city with a motive to improve rank of CMC in upcoming Swachh Survekshan. Team has also requested and made the citizen to give their feedback and vote for improving the rank of the ULB in Swachh Survekshan 2022.
Fusion Team helped CMC in desiging and printing of Branding Materials (Hoarding/Poster/Stickers/Banners) and Creatives. These were used for Behaviour Change Communication (BCC), Inforrmation Education and Communication (IEC), Social Media and for assessment of SS 2022, GFC Star Rating and ODF++.
Chhindwara Municipal Corporation has made 9 Brand Ambassadors for Swachh Survekshan 2022. They all actively participated in various awareness activities of cleanliness and sanitation. They took meetings, held discussions, organized competitions, visited door-to-door in wards for awareness creation and sensitization. The did activities on various themes of Swachhata Such as Home Composting, Source Segregation of Waste, Swachhata App, Maintenance of Water bodies, Drains and Nallahs, Citizen Feedback for Swachh Survekshan etc. Their contribution has been remarkable towards cleanliness of city.
Due to the increase in industrialization and urbanization, many waste materials coming from it are being directly exposed in nature and are harming living plants and animals. In the modern world, we depend much on ready-made and artificial products. There are many alternatives available for a single item.
A game was designed in which names of various kind of wastes were printed on paper board of 1 square foot each. These paper boards have to be treated as that particular kind of waste and have to be disposed in designated colour of dustbin in which they fall. Game is to be played with a referee and two players. These cardboards are to be placed on one side on a table, while 4 bins with colour coding are to be placed on other side. One minute time is to be given to each participating team in which one player has to pick one board and hand over it to other player which in turn has to dispose it in designated colour dustbin.
About 530 million tonnes of C&D Waste is generated annually. Therefore, to effectively tackle the issues of pollution and waste management, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change notified the Construction & Demolition Waste Management Rules, 2016 on 29 March 2016. These rules have notified duties of various stakeholders including waste Generators. Fusion team is creating awareness about duties of waste generators and facilities &services provided by CMC. Vis-à-vis team is alsomaking residents aware about helpline numbers and notification on management .
Street Play (NukkadNatak) is a form of theatrical performance and presentation in outdoor public spaces without a specific paying audience. These spaces can be anywhere, including shopping centres, car parks, recreational reserves, college or university campus and street corners. Fusion Team has performed street plays in all 48 wards of the city on various themes such as 4 Bin, Source Segregation of Waste, Home Composting, SMS, Plastic Ban, Awareness on Swachh Survekshan etc.
Malasur is visual personification of faecal sludge. Malasur is the unseen demon who lives under your feet, bubbling away, biding its time, waiting until that opportune moment when it can erupt into a backflow or an overflow. Malasur is a threat to your water unless you build the right kind of septic tank, do regular desludging and keep an eye on where your poo is being dumped.
Rallies are large public events, especially held to support an idea. Our team organizes rallies on various current themes in a time bound manner to create awareness and to spread messages about solid waste management in line with Swachh Bharat Mission.
Prabhat Pheriis used to be organized by our team from 06:00 AM to 09:00 AM. Fusion team visits in wards to make people aware about source segregation of waste, plastic ban, social distancing, mask and sanitizer (SMS), and impact of cleanliness and hygiene of their health through Geet-Sangeet and playing Musical Instruments.
Fusion Team administer Swachhata Shapath/pledge usually after each and every awareness/sensitization activity to the residents participated in that particular activity. This is a motivating event which fulfil vigour in residents to keep their surroundings and city clean.
Swachhata Rath equipped with Audio/Visual System desinged on various themes such as Source Segregation of Waste, Safai Mitra Suraksha, Home Composting, Atmanirbhar Ward, Plastic Ban, Menstrual Hygiene, Covid-19, WASH etc. laucnhed from time to time with a motive to create awareness and senstization on aforementioned themses.
Planting sapling of trees/plants on various occasion is a noble cause towards safeguarding our environment and ecology. Plants avail us with various benefits such as food, wood, timber, temperature regulation, water cycle, reducing air pollution, holding soil, medicines etc. Fusion Team in association with Chhindwara Municipal Corporation done plantation many times under Ankur Mission, on World Environment Day and on other occasions too. Honourable Commissioner CMC Shree Himanshu Singh himself did plantation with team at various places.
Fusion team organizes Swachhata competitions in line with Swachh Bharat Mission guidelines under IEC/BCC activities. The motives of these competitions are awareness creation, motivation towards cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene, developing health vibes among participants etc. Fusion Team organizes various competitions such as painting, singing, mural making, dancing, debate, group discussions, games, essay writing, rangoli making etc. on themes such as 4 Bin, Segregated Collection of Waste, Source Segregation, Composting, Safaimitra Suraksha etc.
