Nagar Palika Parishad in Rajgarh District faced a significant challenge with the Rajgarh Dumpsite, a legacy waste dump posing environmental and public health risks. With a population of 29,726 (as per the Census 2011) and waste generation reaching 11.11 TPD in 2022, addressing this issue was imperative. The dumpsite, located at coordinates 23°59’16.35″N 76°43’35.19″ E, covered an area of 38600 sqm, with 12449 sqm designated as waste spread area. The estimated capacity for dumpsite reclamation was 12,757 MT of legacy waste.

The FWMC took charge of the remediation project to tackle this environmental concern. Recognizing the significance of sustainable practices, FWMC employed a multifaceted approach, integrating bioremediation, biomining, and proper disposal of residual waste.
